Here are some more information about my project "Physician Information Management System (PIMS)".

This Project Report is written in the MSCIT program at Sikkim Manipal University. The report has been written during 14 weeks in the March-June of 2011. I have taken efforts in this project.

This report is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirement for Masters of Science in Information Technology of Sikkim Manipal University, India. As the project, web based application named “Physician Information Management System (PIMS)” has been developed.  This web based application, PIMS, gives information about physicians, their professional qualifications, experiences, medical specialization, their availability and their location in clinics & hospitals etc. This directory provides a common platform for all health professionals, clinics, hospitals and patients to communicate globally, which finally helps to fulfill the gap between physicians and patients. 

And this project report covers over all aspects of the system developed. Since this system has been developed with proper consultation from Hospitals and many doctors, system is ready to use as online web application. Moreover, the system is customizable with high degree of configuration parameters.

When i was doing study on existing system, i found this type of Physician Information management system is widely used and popular in United States. I found some of popular companies like WebMD, Health grades & Appointment net which are working in the online physician information management system. They have listed more than 750,000 physicians online from US locations. 

But in context of Nepal, I couldn’t find any online directory to list out Nepalese physicians. So, this system will be the first to list out Nepali physicians and their services. So, thought to make it real one, for that i’ve registered www.nepalhealth.com, which will list out all Nepalis doctors and give the platform for patients to find a doctor in their location. I hope which will minimize the gap between doctors and patients and also i hope this hub will create a platform for all hospitals, clinics, doctors and patients.
