Mozilla on Tuesday made its latest Web browser available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux computers. Firefox 4 features a redesigned UI, a new panoramic tab manager, improved security and privacy controls, integrated Firefox Sync services, tab grouping, an optimized JavaScript engine designed to improve Web app performance, GPU-accelerated page rendering and plenty more. The new version of Firefox is available for download immediately in numerous languages. Hit the break for a video highlighting Firefox 4′s new features.
Although at the time of writing Firefox 4 was being rolled out across the web before an official announcement was made, you can guarantee a download now by visiting the review page.
"Mozilla is very proud of Firefox 4, created by our community of thousands of volunteers worldwide," Gary Kovacs, CEO of Mozilla, told PC Magazine. "It truly is the browser for tomorrow's Web. The Internet has become the most important connection mechanism in our society, which is why we've focused on making users' Web experience as fast, modern, safe and intuitive as possible."

Firefox 4’s gestation has been a rocky one lasting the best part of nine months. It follows a small decline in Firefox 4’s overall market share after years of eating into Internet Explorer’s lead, largely down to the arrival of rival browsers like Google’s Chrome and Apple’s Safari.
Things were made worse for Mozilla when Microsoft caught everyone unawares when it rolled out a public beta of Internet Explorer 9 in September that demonstrated Microsoft’s determination to arrest the haemorrhaging of its market share with a dramatically slimmed down, redesigned and much faster browser.
Firefox 4 brings with it a slew of new features, including, most notably, a completely overhauled user interface that makes it look a lot like Chrome, but hardware acceleration and the jet-powered JaegerMonkey JavaScript engine also jostle for center stage. In true Mozilla style, Firefox 4 also brings support for many emerging standards, such as HTML5, CSS3 and WebGL. Finally, there are neat features like built-in Sync, restartless add-ons, and workspace management with Panorama.
