Just got an thank you email from Google regarding GOOGLE GIVES BACK. I think GOOGLE updated their every users with the fact that they are investing millions of money on philanthropy that supports science, technology, engineering and math education in the developing world.

They have also mentioned that their philanthropic arm, google.org, donated $100 million this year 2011. They have also stated that they are mainly working on empowerment through technology; the fight against modern-day slavery and human trafficking.

Google has officially launched their new search algorithm called "freshness update". This is a major search engine change by Google after their last year's Panda Update, which affected a very number of search results. They have announced in their blog that It is one of the biggest tweaks to Google’s search algorithm, affecting about 35 percent of all searches. 

The new algorithm is a recognition that Google, whose dominance depends on providing the most useful results, is being increasingly challenged by services like Twitter and Facebook, which have trained people to expect constant updates with seconds-old news. This includes things like recent events, hot topics, current reviews and breaking news items.

A group of hackers called Team Swastika published the details of 10,000 Facebook accounts on text sharing site, Pastebin.

According to the Hacker News, Team Swastika claims to be the most powerful hacking team in Nepal, their next target will be Nepal Government website.

Pastebin quickly removed the leaked documents. Pastebin, usually used to share source code, has frequently been host to a number of text files that contain the details of specific hacks by hackitivists and hacker groups.

It's been more than two months, Google+ was in close testing. It was previously available only to journalists and technical people. They allowed 10 million users in the first two weeks. Later on it reached to 25 million users in 28 days, that was the highest record in the social media history. Anyway, now it's open to all! Anyone can join now.

When you browse to google.com, there you will see a big blue arrow pointing to your google+ name on the left side of its top nav bar. If you click on +You, it will open Google plus home page and sign up process. I am sure this time no one is going to miss it. All regular visitors of google search will tracked to google plus. Really this blue arrow is harder to miss for any users.

Can google take on facebook and twitter? I don't think it's so easy to migrate settled millions of users from facebook and twitter. Whatever, i like their spirit and passion in social media. They have already tried Google Buzz, orkut, Google Wave with no success. It seems like they wanna make it happen in any way, so they are giving damn care on their rate of failure.

Now they have another shield ON and jumped on the field  with its new social networking website Google Plus Project. Which was expected to be named as google circle. My intuition says they can make it happen, because they already have millions of users in gmail, blogger and youtube. If they can come up with some special integrated features, their users can easily get migrated. And another reason is many people are being fed up of facebook, may be they are in search of new and some extra features.

Google is getting serious about integrating social computing capabilities into its services. Google's new CEO, Larry Page is making one thing clear, he'll be sharpening the company's focus on social networking. Page swiftly set the tone for how he would run the Internet search giant with a major reorganization of his management team.

Page is trying to restore the sense of urgency and innovation that drove Google's prior successes. The reorganization also puts him firmly in charge of the world's largest Internet company in much the same way Steve Jobs runs Apple Inc.
