Google’s New Freshness Algorithm, Making Results More Timely

admin

Google's new algorithm, a big challenge to Search engine optimizer, affecting search resultsGoogle has officially launched their new search algorithm called "freshness update". This is a major search engine change by Google after their last year's Panda Update, which affected a very number of search results. They have announced in their blog that It is one of the biggest tweaks to Google’s search algorithm, affecting about 35 percent of all searches.

The new algorithm is a recognition that Google, whose dominance depends on providing the most useful results, is being increasingly challenged by services like Twitter and Facebook, which have trained people to expect constant updates with seconds-old news. This includes things like recent events, hot topics, current reviews and breaking news items.

Google search tips & tricks for better searches

admin

google search tips and tricks for better searches, nepali search, easy search, fast searching

Search is simple: just type whatever comes to mind in the search box, hit Enter or click the Search button, and Google will search the web for content that's relevant to your search. If you have Google Instant enabled, results may appear dynamically as you type.

Most of the time, you'll find exactly what you're looking for with just a basic query (the word or phrase you search for). However, the following tips can help you make the most of your searches. Throughout the article, i'll use square brackets [ ] to signal a search query, so [ black and white] is one query, while [ black ] and [ white ] are two separate queries.

Google's experimental search

admin

google lab, google search, search nepal

Google is always experimenting with new features aimed at improving the search experience. You can check out their new experiments at google labs.

Google Labs is a playground where we can play around with prototypes of some of google's wild and crazy ideas. Please note that Labs is the first phase in a lengthy product development process and none of this stuff is guaranteed to make it onto Google.com. While some of these crazy ideas might grow into the next Gmail or iGoogle, others might turn out to be, well, just plain crazy.

Google Plus: Another try by google to make the web more social

admin

google plus, social networking website launch, google social network, social networking in nepal, new social network

Can google take on facebook and twitter? I don't think it's so easy to migrate settled millions of users from facebook and twitter. Whatever, i like their spirit and passion in social media. They have already tried Google Buzz, orkut, Google Wave with no success. It seems like they wanna make it happen in any way, so they are giving damn care on their rate of failure.

Now they have another shield ON and jumped on the field  with its new social networking website Google Plus Project. Which was expected to be named as google circle. My intuition says they can make it happen, because they already have millions of users in gmail, blogger and youtube. If they can come up with some special integrated features, their users can easily get migrated. And another reason is many people are being fed up of facebook, may be they are in search of new and some extra features.

What is google publisher button "You +1'd this"?

admin

google publisher button to increase your traffic, increase your search engine ranking and traffic

Today, i was checking my google adsense account after a long time. There i saw one recommendation "Add the +1 button to your pages". There were written some description saying "Adding the +1 button to your pages allows users to recommend your content to friends and contacts on Google search. As a result, you could get more and better qualified traffic. " That sounded interesting for me, why not to try? if i can get more traffic from my circle. I know Google is always experimenting with new features aimed at improving the search experience. Then i clicked on "get code snippet". It's so simple to add on your site. They directed me to another page and gave me some options with source code. Now, you can see my +1 button on the bottom of every articles with social bookmark and also on right side with my other social profile icons.

Later i did some research on +1 button, i found it was released on June 1, just 10 days back. I am 10 days back to get updated such features,  anyway i am not so late. They are saying that "Click +1 to publicly give something your stamp of approval. Your +1's can help friends, contacts, and others on the web find the best stuff when they search."  I tried it by adding +1 to my own page and went to search in google. Yes! it worked for me! It was saying "You +1'd this" with the +1 button. It looks pretty cool, you should check this out.

Google Announces 'Instant Previews' Search Feature

admin

People searching on Google will soon be able to see previews of websites before clicking on them.

The "Instant Previews" feature announced Tuesday is meant to help people bypass websites that are either irrelevant or simply too visually cluttered for their tastes. It works for Google Web searches, as well as searches for news, video and local businesses.

After clicking on an icon of a magnifying glass, people will see a picture of the website in the white space to the right of the search results within a tenth of a second. Although the preview photo will vary in size, just as Google Inc.'s image results do, Google designed the previews so that they'll never eclipse the search results and clutter the page.

Why google search says sorry?

admin

These days, google is irritating us. when we try to do some quick search it redirects us to http://www.google.com/sorry/ page saying "We're Sorry... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now. To continue searching, please type the characters you see below: ". It looks disgusting to us. But what is the reason behind it?

Google prevents automated queries

Sorry page is the page Google serves you (or an application) when you fail to answer it's human-verification question. Google has instituted this new policy - randomly checking to see if queries submitted to it (ie. searches) are done by human beings (as opposed to software applications). The purpose of this is two-fold. On the one hand, blocking the search query and redirecting the user to sorry page alerts the user to potential spyware on their PC; on the other hand, it prevents users from utilizing software to query the Google search engine.
