admin

There are many webmasters that need assistance with their Joomla site. Most problems webmasters have to deal with will be avoided by following these 7 simple guidelines for using a Joomla site:

1. Article Manager
The "pages" on your site are referred to as articles, the main content for each page. One of the first things you always want to do when creating a new page on your Joomla website is create a new article. Content Management Systems work by controlling how your site handles information, so it is natural that this should be your first step.

2. Menu Manager
When you work with menu items, you must remember that these are just links that tell your site which article it is pointing to. Menu items help you assign modules to specific pages, rather than having to show them on every page or none at all.

Joomla is widely used Content Management System (CMS). With its popularity it becomes important to optimize sites created in Joomla. Recently, Joomla has become a popular tool for those looking to develop a website or blog. Unfortunately, Joomla isn’t very search engine friendly, and users will need to optimize their sites in order to attract the attention for search engine spiders.

While it is true that all websites need to put some effort into their search engine optimization, it is especially true of Joomla sites. Following are a few basic tips to start optimizing pages created in Joomla:

  1. Create a URL that is search engine friendly:  Joomla’s URL’s simply are not search engine friendly. You can make yours more friendly several different ways. Joomla has a plugin designed to assist you – the SEF plugin. This plugin is not active by default but can be easily activated on the global configuration page.  There are several ‘paid’ functions that can be purchased to assist you with your URL.  Finally, many choose to hire a consultant to ensure their URL is properly configured.

What is “Open Source Hardware?”

Posted by admin in Open Source Hardware

admin

“OSHW” is used as a acronym of Open Source Hard Ware?

Open Source Hardware (OSHW) is a term for tangible artifacts — machines, devices, or other physical things — whose design has been released to the public in such a way that anyone can make, modify, distribute, and use those things. This definition is intended to help provide guidelines for the development and evaluation of licenses for Open Source Hardware.

It is important to note that hardware is different from software in that physical resources must always be committed for the creation of physical goods. Accordingly, persons or companies producing items (”products”) under an OSHW license have an obligation not to imply that such products are manufactured, sold, warrantied, or otherwise sanctioned by the original designer and also not to make use of any trademarks owned by the original designer.

Why google search says sorry?

Posted by admin in google

admin

These days, google is irritating us. when we try to do some quick search it redirects us to http://www.google.com/sorry/ page saying "We're Sorry... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now. To continue searching, please type the characters you see below: ". It looks disgusting to us. But what is the reason behind it?

Google prevents automated queries

Sorry page is the page Google serves you (or an application) when you fail to answer it's human-verification question. Google has instituted this new policy - randomly checking to see if queries submitted to it (ie. searches) are done by human beings (as opposed to software applications). The purpose of this is two-fold. On the one hand, blocking the search query and redirecting the user to sorry page alerts the user to potential spyware on their PC; on the other hand, it prevents users from utilizing software to query the Google search engine.
